Kerry Benninghoff was called up by a constituent and made some statements. I want to put out there my thoughts on the ordinance as well as talk about what Kerry said because some of it, in my opinion, is incorrect. Granville Township Data Center Ordinance + Kerry Benninghoff Comments
Data centers are a real issue right now and you need to know about it. Putting it plainly, we need to protect our rural communities. We need to enact ordnances to make it so these AI data centers need to abide by the same rules and laws expected by us. We can't run 100 generators in our yards 24/7 so why should they be able to? If elected I'm committing to passing data center legislation on a state level to ensure if you're building a data center in PA- it won't hurt local communities and pass expenses onto consumers. As for what we can do now? We need to gather together and demand more from our local representatives to get ordnances and legislation on the books. Cut the light pollution, reduce power consumption, cut noise levels, and protect our rural landscape.

The PA Turnpike commission is about to start sending you texts to get you to pay for your unpaid tolls... Doesn't that sound familiar? Isn't every government agency warning not to trust spam texts? Genuinely blows my mind that we have to spend $300,000 to figure out that this is a horrible idea.

State College Developer Kicking Out Seniors for Students
Out of nowhere, after years of telling people that any text coming from the PA Turnpike commission, Penn Dot, or EZPASS was a scam - the Turnpike Commission wants to send text messages about your tolls. And they are spending $300,000 to trial it. This is the worst decision I have ever heard. Scam texts are on the rise and the turnpike is basically saying "LEMME IN ON THAT MONEY!" I'm calling on congressional leaders to tell the turnpike commission to stop this absolute nonsense. That includes Kerry Benninghoff- the Republican chair of the transportation committee. If not him, then the chair Ed Neilson. If not them, then SOMEONE in this government needs to do SOMETHING.
